About
I’m originally from Philadelphia, USA. I studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Design in 2009, and since then have been doing design in various forms (along with other things that a life consists of).
My first few jobs were at advertising and design agencies in support of fashion brands. While these jobs were very exciting, interesting, and I learned a lot, I felt uneasy about the exploitation of labor and environmental destruction of the fashion industry. So, I gradually shifted my focus toward projects which weren’t making the world a worse place. Taking a course in “Life Architecture” with aequa helped me to further define my values and align my actions with those values.
I’ve been based in Berlin, Germany since 2016. I’m a freelancer and open to new projects—especially in the areas of social justice, community building, the environment, education, the arts, or small business. While my primary working language is English, I take on projects in German as well. If you want more professional info, check out my LinkedIn profile.
Here I am facilitating a design workshop while working at care.com. While there, I also organized a “PowerPoint Makeover” session in which we beautified and clarified confusing, text-heavy, and downright ugly presentations which saturate working environments everywhere.
I do comedy, too!
I love to mix creativity and humor, which I do with my main hobby: long-form improv. You can often find me at the Comedy Café Berlin, either performing or watching shows. I enjoy the collaborative, spontaneous, and creative aspects of improv. Not to mention making people laugh and hopefully providing some transcendent and happy moments for the audience members.
I also dabble in stand-up comedy, which I learned via the Berlin Stand-up School.
